I highly recommend this sauna. A group of 7 of us went and voted it our favourite sauna, and we have tried a few! That is nothing against other saunas but this one was perfect. So close to the beach that swim dips were easy, secluded natural situation made it relaxing, plenty of place to change and store gear, lovely large sauna, free parking a few hundred metres away with a drop off close by for those who need it and little extras which made it special (you'll have to go to find out what these are!).

A lovely seaside sauna experience, great views of the sea and easy to go for a dip in between the sauna. Evie aka the welcoming committee was a wonderful addition to the whole set up and was good at checking on us regularly as we came and went. I loved toasting marshmallows afterwards as well. Thanks for a great time!

Had a lovely morning at this wee gem of a sauna. Its interior is pristine and the panoramic view out of the large front window is to die for. The experience is elevated by the beautiful personal touches - from the mini welcome sign to the denim theme. Perfectly located a short walk from the sea, I just didn’t want to leave. Have already booked a return trip.

We’ve been to a good few outdoor saunas in Scotland and this is definitely the best we’ve visited to date. The sauna is positioned perfectly to look out to the water, it’s very clean and just beautifully finished. The people that run it are very helpful and extremely friendly, offering fruit too. Overall a great experience for such a great price. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic sauna right by the beach in Largo Bay. Immaculate with lots of small touches that make a big difference, such as cold water buckets/sprays if you dont want to go into the sea; fresh fruit; outdoor seating. Great location and a lovely welcoming owner. Try it!

Just spent the most relaxing and refreshing time at this sauna. Facilities were excellent, even offered fruit while we relaxed afterwards. The sauna is a very high standard, with a beautiful view of the beach. Made to feel welcome by the friendly hosts. Highly recommend it and plan to return when we visit again.

The Castaway is just glorious. Really friendly and welcoming atmosphere, sauna set up and run beautifully, and the location simply spectacular. Loved the dips in the sea after sessions in the heat of the sauna. Loved it all and will be back as often as I can.

It was so amazing, we were total newbies and loved it. Would recommend it to any age ( we are a bit on the oldies side) Personal care from yourselves was nothing but excellent. Thank you Heather

Step into Largo Castaway Sauna, where the sea meets the heat, and the rest of the world drifts far beyond the horizon. Here, “casting away” isn’t just a phrase—it’s a feeling. You leave behind the noise, the screens, the endless to-do lists, and let the waves carry away everything that weighs you down. Surrounded by the wild beauty of the coast, the salt air in your lungs, and the warmth wrapping your body, you rediscover the simple joy of being present. It’s not escape—it’s return. Cast away, and come back lighter. Read More…

For centuries, Finns have used hot and cold to increase well-being, promote health and build character. We have always believed that the sweat born in a sauna cleans the body from inside out. And after a hot steam, cooling down by rolling in the snow or going for an icy dip is the best way to refresh the mind and body, creating a feeling of being reborn.

For the sake of sauna hygiene and fellow users experience, please shower and arrive fresh and clean for your session.

There is no parking next to the sauna, as all parking beyond The Temple is privately owned but the public car park is only a 5-minute walk away.

There is a changing/hanging canopy behind the sauna, with two changing huts to the side.

We suggest that where possible you arrive already changed into your swimwear underneath your clothes or robe, leaving as many belongings in the car as possible, and make sure to shower and use toilet facilities before joining us for your session.

In Lower Largo, parking and public toilets can be found at The Temple beside The Net Factory and opposite the beach – Car Park and Public Toilets

Yes, absolutely. We offer 55-minute sessions as standard, but if you get in touch we can arrange for sessions of 90 mins, 2 or 3 hours, or even more.

Just let us know what you have in mind and we’ll see what we can do.

Many people like to plan their sauna sessions according to the tide at Largo beach, and some who are coming for an evening session also like to factor in where the moon is in its phases.

🌊 You can find the Lower Largo beach tide timetable here.

🌙 And a moon phase calendar here.
