One month on from our last blog and our trailer has arrived so building can commence!  Due to all the usual things that can cause a delay in proceedings, we are now realistically looking at a December opening but what better way to celebrate Christmas and bring in the New Year of 2025.

We have been making many important decisions about how we want Largo Castaway Sauna to look.  The steel frame which, thanks to Steve, we sourced from Barrett Steel has been delivered to our builders Chris and Gavin (CE Jaggard Builders Merchants).  Steel beams were delivered to our site care of RM Blacksmith so now we can ensure our sauna is safe and secure during the high winds that often come to the Fife Coastal Path.  Looking at different options for both the exterior and interior cladding has been a really important part of the process and we are really happy with our choices.  However, we will let you know more about that as the build progresses.

It’s not just the sauna itself that we have been thinking about but the site that it will be located on too.  Our local man Robbie did a great job of clearing the site and creating a place for our sauna and shed plus another area for the Chill Out Zone.  We are hoping to have a sitting area to the right of the sauna which can be cleared should we decide to offer a space for yoga, Pilates or other such activities.  Calling on creative friends and family for input with their ideas has been really helpful and our vision is starting to take shape – in our minds anyway.

Frazer (Studio Flamingo) is continuing to work away on our website and is patiently waiting for the opportunity to take some fabulous photos of the sauna to put online.  Meanwhile our booking system is being prepared by FareHarbor so that we can ensure the booking of sauna slots is as easy for you as possible.

Although a little disappointed that we can’t bring Largo Castaway Sauna to you sooner, we know that once it is in place, we will feel confident in offering you a truly relaxing yet exhilarating experience each time you visit and we cannot wait for that!
