As seasons continue to rotate, autumn will come to settle and the pace of life will naturally slow again. So that you feel prepared for this, we wanted to share something special with you.

Our next Castaway Weekend Retreat is taking place at The Old Schoolhouse from:

Friday 30th October – Sunday 1st November,

and it’s been thoughtfully created as a space to pause, reset, and reconnect.

Set in a peaceful coastal location, this weekend is all about stepping away from the noise of everyday life and easing into a slower, more nourishing rhythm.

One of the highlights is, of course, time spent at Largo Castaway Sauna — a chance to fully unwind in the warmth of the wood-fired sauna, embrace the invigorating contrast of hot and cold, and reconnect with the elements around you. It’s a deeply grounding experience that leaves you feeling both calm and re-energised.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll be gently guided through restorative practices including yoga with Anna from The Yogi Space and immersive sound bathing with Deborah from House of Holistics Scotland, helping to release tension, settle the nervous system, and create space for stillness.

There’s also time for creativity and connection, with a hands-on skincare workshop by Nana Kat designed to help you slow down, make something meaningful, and enjoy the process. Carol from CWTherapies is also going to be on hand on Saturday to do individual reflexology sessions if anyone wants to add this into their weekend relaxation. Everything is complemented by beautiful, nourishing meals made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients by the wonderful Meredith — shared together in a warm and welcoming space.

Accommodation at The Old Schoolhouse is cosy, inviting, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. There are a range of beautiful room options available, including an ensuite double, double, twin, and single rooms. Prices are based on sharing, with single occupancy available, on request, for an additional fee.

This retreat is about simple pleasures done well — warmth, good food, meaningful moments, and room to breathe.

You’ll leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected… carrying a little of that Castaway feeling with you into the winter months.

I have just been lucky enough to attend the Castaway Retreat. The lovely organiser, Antonia, hosted the weekend and arranged a range of wonderful relaxing activities: sauna whisking, sea dips, sound bathing, silent counselling and yoga. We could also explore our creative side in the jewellery workshop, making pendants, which will be a souvenir of our weekend. We stayed at the gorgeous 17th century schoolhouse, where the welcoming owner, Meredith, looked after us, including cooking the most delicious food. Good vibes, chats and laughs were also on tap. The ideal reset.

Largo Castaway Sauna weekend Retreat was an absolute delight from start to finish. The three sauna sessions over the weekend - sunset, afternoon and sunrise - were amazing. Outstanding views of Largo Bay with birch/oak whisking and essential oil fanning by Steve were fabulous. The sea and cold tub dips were exhilarating! The weekend included professionally run yoga and sound bathing sessions as well as a fabulous silver jewellery workshop where we created a unique necklace as a wonderful keepsake. The accommodation at The Old School House was perfect. Meredith was so welcoming and created the most wonderful meals. Many thanks to Antonia for organising such a well-run and fun weekend. Just returned from a fantastic Weekend retreat organised by Castaway Sauna! Absolutely first class from start to finish! The best accommodation / food and so much more from The Old Schoolhouse with a jam-packed itinerary to boot! Saunas, jewellery making, sound bathing and yoga! We were all looked after so well! Largo Castaway Retreat, where do I start? Beautiful School House, Newburn was just lovely, bright and every detail so thoughtful. Meredith, our hostess at the house was so welcoming and her food was just incredible! The activities, varied and so much fun. It brought old friends and new friends together seamlessly. All brought together with amazing sauna sessions. Antonia, you are a star, you have brought together the most enjoyable, relaxing wonderful weekend. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! As a very happy regular at Castaway Sauna I was so happy to attend their first retreat weekend. I was expecting great things & it completely surpassed my expectations! The most wonderful weekend of sauna, sea, interesting & varied activities, luxurious accommodation, delicious food & magnificent companionship! I have everything crossed that the retreat happens again, but I would advise getting in there quickly because there will be high demand for places!

Largo Castaway Sauna Retreat Fabulous, amazing sanctuary by the sea I had an amazing weekend at this retreat. We had fantastic saunas by the sea including different experiences using different types of wood, dips in the sea, cold water dooks in a bath, made silver clay jewellery, experienced a sound bath, had a fabulous yoga session and ate delicious food cooked by Meredith. Meredith is an amazing cook and catered for all of our preferences including gluten free and vegetarian. The retreat was held at The Old Schoolhouse near Largo which is a beautiful house and all activities were organised by Antonia of Largo Castaway Sauna. Steve ensured that the sauna was spotlessly clean and just at the right temperature and introduced us to amazing aromas such as lemongrass at the sauna. I can't wait until another one is arranged. In between I will definitely visit the sauna on a regular basis. I have found my "happy place".

We stayed in the beautiful Old Schoolhouse in Newburn, a space that felt both historic and homely. We were fully catered for by Meredith, whose cooking stretched my palate in the most delightful ways — every meal felt like a small adventure. And throughout it all, Antonia curated the entire experience with such warmth, thoughtfulness, and vision. You can feel her passion in every detail. This retreat was a rare blend of creativity, nourishment, and deep rest. I left feeling lighter, inspired, and more connected to myself. I can’t recommend Largo Castaway Retreat highly enough.
